AIM Think Tank is a multidisciplinary practice specializing in architecture, development, and integrated project delivery. As our portfolio continues to expand across residential and mixed-use projects, we are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our growing team.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Structural Engineer with strong technical capabilities and a solid understanding of residential structural systems. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently producing structural drawing sets for single-family residential projects and coordinating effectively with architectural and consultant teams throughout the design and permitting process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare structural calculations and drawing sets for residential projects, including single-family homes, additions, and small-scale developments.
  • Independently develop permit-ready structural drawings.
  • Coordinate with architectural and consultant teams throughout project development.
  • Review project requirements, applicable codes, and jurisdictional standards.
  • Participate in design development and technical problem-solving.
  • Maintain drawing quality, technical consistency, and project efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Experience with wood-frame residential structures preferred.
  • Ability to independently complete structural drawings for residential projects.
  • Familiarity with U.S. building codes and residential structural systems.
  • EIT certification preferred; PE or SE license is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced professional environment.
