AIM Think Tank is a multidisciplinary practice specializing in architecture, development, and integrated project delivery. As our portfolio continues to expand across residential and mixed-use projects, we are seeking a talented Licensed Architect to join our growing team.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Licensed Architect with strong technical expertise and a solid understanding of residential and small-scale development projects. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently producing permit-ready architectural drawing sets, coordinating with consultants and jurisdictions, and contributing throughout the design and permitting process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare architectural drawing sets for residential and mixed-use projects, including single-family homes, cottage housing developments, townhomes, and additions.
  • Independently develop permit-ready architectural drawings and construction documents.
  • Coordinate with structural, civil, landscape, and other consultant teams throughout project development.
  • Review zoning requirements, building codes, and jurisdictional standards applicable to each project.
  • Participate in site planning, design development, and technical problem-solving.
  • Respond to plan review comments and support permit approvals.
  • Maintain drawing quality, technical consistency, and project efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Active Washington State Architect License, or ability to obtain reciprocity.
  • 5+ years of professional architectural experience preferred.
  • Experience with residential and small-scale development projects.
  • Ability to independently complete permit-ready architectural drawing sets.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced professional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cottage housing, townhomes, subdivisions, ADUs, or multifamily residential projects.
  • Familiarity with permitting agencies throughout the Greater Seattle region.
  • Experience coordinating directly with consultants and local jurisdictions.
  • Understanding of land development and site planning processes.
